Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people aged 65 and older, some people younger than age 65 with certain disabilities and those people with permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant (ESRD – End-Stage Renal Disease).

The various “parts” of Medicare are designed to help cover specific services:

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) – Covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) – Covers certain doctors’ services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services.

Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) – A type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. If you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan, Medicare services are covered through the plan and aren’t paid for under Original Medicare. Most Medicare Advantage Plans offer prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) – Adds prescription drug coverage to Original Medicare, some Medicare Cost Plans, some Medicare Private-Fee-for-Service Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. These plans are offered by insurance companies and other private companies approved by Medicare. Medicare Advantage Plans may also offer prescription drug coverage that follows the same rules as Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.

What is Medicare Supplement Insurance?

Gosset Group is able to help by offering Medicare Supplemental insurance. A Medicare Supplement policy is senior health insurance sold by private insurance companies (as opposed to Medicare itself which is funded by the federal government) to expand the coverage afforded by the original Medicare plan. This supplemental insurance helps to fill in the gaps where Medicare falls short which is why it is sometimes referred to as “Medigap” insurance. It can help to cover co-pays and deductibles for doctor visits, hospital stays and other medical services. Seniors pay a monthly premium but a subject to few other out-of-pocket medical expenses.

With decades of experience in the medical insurance field, you can count on Gosset Group to provide you with the lowest rates and the best customer service. Contact us today to discuss your Medicare supplement options with one of our qualified representatives.
